Ralph Edwards is a Sergeant for the Los Angeles Port Police Department. He supervises the Department’s underwater operations and was instrumental in the development and implementation of the Los Angeles Port Police Department’s sonar program. Sergeant Edwards and his team have assisted the Los Angeles Police Department, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and Long Beach Police Department with sonar missions, their sonar programs and training. He and his team have been recognized for their involvement in side-scan sonar surveys, influence in off shore investigations and the use of sonar technology to locate and recover underwater evidence.
Sergeant Edwards has nineteen years of law enforcement experience, fifteen in the maritime environment. He has been a public safety diver for the Los Angeles Port Police Department for twelve years and has supervised the Los Angeles Port Police Department’s Underwater Operations for the past five years.
